Steering stem plug?

Hey all, I just puts a Scotts damper on my bike, and had to remove the plastic cap and OEM top triple clamp nut to mount it. The damper doesn't fit with the cap installed, so does anybody know what size of plug to fit in there? I'm at work right now and can't measure it, haha.

On my SP2, I measure 29mm I.D. on the steering stem where the cap would go.

Why would you want a plug on it?

Sub to the rescue! I have an assortment of perfect plastic cap-plugs here at work, and now I can bring the right one home without going back and forth and measuring myself. Their is a gap between the damper and the now open steering stem, so I want to put a new plug in to keep dirt and crap out. Damn dust and dead spiders add unnecessary top-end weight! hahaha

You better plug the bottom too. I found a dead wasp in there when I installed my damper.
