Rear Wheel Hugger Clearance

I recently purchased a RC51 SP1 hugger and popped her on the bike no problems. However, I noticed when I was pushing into the garage after riding I could hear the tire rubbing on it.

Yeap, there was a streat on the tire where it was touching, and I pulled it off to find a smooth spot on the hugger. Everything bolted up proper but the wheel touches by a hair, enough to cause issue in my eyes.

I have Pirelli Corsa tires, stock to my knowledge size wise. Perhaps I need to do some burnouts? lol

I have a 600rr version hugger and it clears my stock tire (190/50) just fine. You could try shimming the hugger up a bit. Burnouts are only a temporary solution!

Hugger

Did you buy one from TYGA? If so did you use the 3m tape at the front?

It's my first hugger period, so maybe I missed a step. I bought it used a few weeks back from a member here on the RC51 website. I bet, with a bit of double sided sticky tape along the swing arm that would solve the clearance.. it's literally like a few mm that's it... just make sure the holes line up and I'd probably be golden.

Hugger

Ive only had one and its the new one for the SP1, by TYGA, so yours may be different. They recommend using the 3m strip along the front rail of the swinger although I used velcro tape so I could remove it as Im still working on the bike. Either way if not used on mine it would for sure scrub. Tested it out today and it did just fine.
Good luck bud.

is your tire a 190/55 or 190/50? the 55 maybe too tall.
