What would you do/ask for?

So I dropped my swingarm off to get powdercoated. I have used this powdercoater for the past few years, and he has always done great work for me, his prices are a tad higher than others, but he is local, and I like to support the local guys around here. Anywho, after it was done being powdercoated, one of his younger employees knocked it off of the shelf it was sitting on, and it put a flat spot where the bearing gets pressed into.

He took it to the Honda shop, they said they could not fix it, and that they would recommend replacing it, it would be around $1300, but that comes loaded with bearings and seals. I kinda feel the same way they do, I would feel bettering having it replaced. He wanted to take it somewhere and have it repaired. Whats your guys thoughts? Here are some pictures:

Honesty is great. Try and find a good used one and let the guy make it right. $1300 for a new one is way too much. Bravo to the powdercoater for doing the right thing. Makes you glad you dealt with him. Give him a break if you can- find a good one and let him powdercoat it like you originally intended.

How the hell do you knock one of those off a shelf?

They are much cheaper if you go through an online dealer like cycle central Powersports. Other than that, you can find used ones if you are patient. Post up a classifieds ad for one, you might get lucky.

Ben at rc51parts.com might have one too. He is a sponsor on here and a good guy to deal with.

i say give him the chance to repair it, but let him know if it isn't up to par he's going to have to buy a new one. Or if you are really not comfortable with it repaired let him know your concerns and suggest maybe buying a used one.

not trying to be a stickler, but I am not a fan of buying one that rash on it. paint chips and rub marks are fine as it would be re-powdercoated, but I dont want rash covered up with powder, the bike is too nice.
