Launch rpm?

I know the tire and situation can change things alot, but what rpm do/would you guys launch at on a street tire? Clutch drop, or slip it?

Slip it. for sure.

But most of us aren't drag guys. But if i am trying to launch hard I am normally between 5 and 7 and slipping the clutch to keep the front end down.

Rpm

New member here, question on what the rpms should be set at on a 2000 Sp1 when idol ? I baught the bike a month ago and live in upstate ny where its freezing so i havent gone to far on it, but seems not quite right idol at 1200 or so??

I don't 'perform' on the street at stoplights or such, it's not worth the infamy with the Leos. If I need a quick departure, I'll use some revs (4500-5k) but slipping to prevent the front lift and wheel spin. Ditto on what mad said.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound
