Honda SP1/SP2 and V4s in UK mags

February and March seem to be Honda time for some UK magazines.

February issue of Performance Bikes has an article comparing affordable used V-twin machines, the Ducati 1000SS, Aprllia Falco, and the SP1.
The SP1 had glowing remarks. The only real downside was the mileage.
But we all knew that.

Bike Magazine, February edition has two articles. One is on the KTM RC8R, with a two page section comparing the RC8R vs SP1.
The most compelling section is the "HRC Legends" section featuring RC30/NC30, RC45/RVF400, SP1/SP2, NSR250R.

Then in Superbike Magazine, March edition, there's the "Honda V4 Dreams" section, showing the VF series, RC30, and NR750/NR750 Racer.

Nice, will have to go pick those up. Performance bikes is probably my favorite magazine. Good articles in there, especially the 360 garage.

Along the same lines, I was reading the latest copy of Sport Rider magazine and they had an interview with Edwards & Spencer where Colin remarked that his favorite bike was the SP2 he raced with.

It's the issue with the new (fugly, IMHO) green Kawai ZX-14 bike on the cover...

Ah yes, the Brits and their Ahem, descript bike chat in their magazines. I have the Bike app on my phone where I review old copies.

V4 on a modern sport bike......sigh

In February Road Racing World, in the "10 Years Ago" portion, there are two references by racer/tester Mat Oxley road Rossi's NSR500 and Edwards' VTR1000SPW bikes.

Of the NSR500, he said "You know this should be the greatest ride of your life, but all the NSR does is make you feel desperately inadequate...".

Of Edwards VTR1000SPW, he said it's "one of the nicest racebikes I've ever ridden...a nice, big, soft, comfy armchair".

BIKE is my favorite. I'll have to look for that app. There was an issue late last year which I accidentally recycled (that's Seattle speak for threw away)
which had the top 25 bikes of all time and I'm pretty sure the RC51 was on that list.
