Anybody Ever Used This??

I found this on a random site. If it works it would be awesome. I for one ride a lot in town and there are TONS of lights, and especially late at night they never want to change. Even though the law in this state is that you can run a red light on a motorcycle, a lot of officers don't know this and pull you over for it. Then you have to explain it and they have to look it up and blah blah blah. I just wondered if anyone had used this and what they thought of it...

It's like having a magnet on the bottom of your bike to help reduce having the green light skip your turn

No need to waste 30 bucks. If its a constant red, as long as you stop a decent cop won't say anything.

I just get off the bike and hit the crosswalk button.

I'm always right.

Ummm, I know you've noticed this but, not all cops are decent.

I sure have here in Sacramento. There are many intersections that I've made a mental note to avoid when possible, otherwise I'll look all around me then go ahead and run the s.o.b.

You mean you put your bike on the stand, leave it to go walk over to the sidewalk? Not poking fun at you, just makes for a funny visual...
Some less-than-decent cop could probably come up with a traffic violation for that.

Yep, I get some funny looks, but it works.

Oh, and sometimes putting the stand down is enough to trigger lights. Or just get a strong magnet from mcmaster Carr. That is what all these red light triggers are. A $5 magnet with a $29 price tag.

I'm always right.

California Vehicle Code Section 2180:

(d) (1) The driver of any vehicle approaching an intersection which has official traffic control signals that are inoperative shall stop at the intersection, and may proceed with caution when it is safe to do so

Which means if it doesn't detect my bike after a rotation, I go. I keep a copy of this in my wallet. Of my friends that have gone through red lights, nobody has been written up. You may want to check and see if you have anything like this where you are.
