Talking New to RC

Ten years a TLR and two superhawks... here she is. 2006 RC 14k all stock except Jardine slip on. Chain and sprockets need replaced. What gear set should i go with? What other maint does she need(assuming nothing has been done) I know all the basics oil, clutch, brake fluids. What else would you service if she was yours TD

The valves don't need checking until 16K miles.
Until that time, just routine oil/filter changes.
A popular final ratio is 15T front and 41T rear. It's a nice compromise between acceleration and cruising speed.

Put a PClll on your wish list. It really does make a huge change. Along with the gearing change it will be a much more enjoyable machine. The '06 models are the most rare of the ones built. I'll bet your VIN number is below 400. If I could have another one I would look for an 06.

I've read there may have only been 300 - 350 of the '06 models in the states.

Welcome TorqueDork-that's a hilarious name!
Gearing does depend on preference, and riding style. I run -1+2. or 15-42. That's what was on the bike and although I've tried a 41 tooth in the back, I only ran it a couple weeks before switching back. I ride mostly canyons and big city traffic. I like the snappy acceleration!!!

Thanks, Jon i thought it up all by myself Might even personalize my plate
I ordered an RK 520 kit with 15/41 off ebay. I think it should be a good combo.

I have a question for the forum though...whats a good polish to use on these cans?
Some staining and light scratches, nothing deep. Thanks TD
