seat cowl stuck/panel

Hi,

Any hints on how to get the back seat panel off if it wont come off when you turn the key that unlocks it? I had taken it off a few times previously with no issues, but now it just wont come off !

Try to stick the edge of your fingernail between the two panels, if you don't have the rubber gasket in place it should be really easy to pry it upwards and out (as long as the mechanism truly did unlock!).

Once it's off, verify that the cable inside and the lock mechanism is actually moving/releasing and not binding up...

The gasket isnt there and I am able to put my fingers under it but it wont pop up. I guess it isnt truly unlocking. I'll try again tomorrow.

I was able to wedge some space and get some light in there. It looks like the cable that goes to the key lock popped out of the "U" holder so the steel cable isnt geting pulled through the sheathing when I turn the key. I'm betting some long reach needle nose pliers will work. Hey it gives me a excuse to expand my tools.

A long ass pair of needle nose pliers is what I used...then I hot glued the barrel in the saddle. That will teach that bitch.

Thanks for the tip! I was just thinking about how I'm going to stop it from happening again.
