Question Question's from the NEWB

So i have about 350miles of seat time on her as i type. I imagine these questions have been asked a hundred times but, im too lazy to search and you know you really like "knowing it all" (you know who you are)

1: Should my temp get so hot? Sitting in traffic ill see temps of 220 before the fans kick on and it starts too cool down. If this is norm, cool. If not, what to do??
2: Does everyone miss shift between 5th and 6th or is my trans effed up?
I randomly find a neutral between 5&6 gears and REEEEEEEEEVV it up Maybe my foots effed up
3: Can someone post a link on how to perform the "soft rev" mod?
Ok last question...whats the best technique for getting your tires warmed up?
I know what i do but, just wanted to hear what others on the forum do...TD

1) Temps of 220-221 deg F are normal if sitting at a light for a while.
My fans kick in at 218 and cool it down to 205 in a few minutes. Quicker if moving.
2) No. Mine doesn't miss shifts at all.
3) http://www.rc51.org/b2a15.htm

4) Street tires warm up quickly. Usually within a few minutes of riding.
Some warm up quicker than others. When I ran Continental Sport Attacks, they were warm to the touch within a mile.

1: see my post here, short version: yes that is normal.

2: put on your big girl panties when you shift. Or go reverse shift and it is easier.

3: rc51.org has a write up. Click in mods, and it will show you.

4: braking and accelerating increase tire temps. Weaving doesn't do anything.

5: you didn't ask a fifth question, but I will answer with this: cheeseburger.

I'm always right.

Thanks sub. Whats your take on dunlop sportmax GP? Two different compounds, harder down the center softer on the edges.

Diabetes doesn't like sugars and carbs.
The worst food to eat as a diabetic is white potatoes. They spike your blood sugar quicker than a packet of sugar.

Meat has a totally different metabolic process.
Eat the burger without the bun. And non-starchy veggies over potatoes.
Plus take chromium supplements which aid insulin sensitivity.

The GP are excellent tires.
I run the Sportmax Q2 street equivalent on my bike.
I try and pick up a set when vendors have sales on them. Especially the rear.

From one RC newb to another.... Got mine about 2 months ago.

1) Be thankful yours doesnt go higher. Mine hit 260 today and was climbing in stopped traffic before I pulled over and shut it off. The temp light starts flashing at 250. I'll have to work on it this weekend and see whats up.

2) Havent had any miss shifts

3) as previously stated, look at the rc website. I recommend the flapper mod as well.

4) I see a lot of people swerving back and forth. I was taught accelerate, brake, accelerate, brake etc etc.... tough to do with people behind you though.

Rough: chain slack should be 25-35mm (1.0-1.25") on the low side of the chain @ mid-way between the sprockets.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound
