Fuel pump

Is the fuel pump suppose to stay on all the time or just go on to build pressure then shut off? An will the pump stayin on hurt anything?

If the engine isn't running (key just switched), it will pressurize the system, then stop.

If the engine is running, it will run to keep the system pressurized, with the fuel pressure regulator maintaining 50 PSI above manifold pressure.
