Deals gap for rc51 riders

I would like to try to organize a deals gap rc51 ride in October
Is anyone interested, I have been going there for the past 12 years and know all the locals, I am a distant local myself. I can lead and know where are the cool hang outs and rides are. Post if you are interested so I can give dates and get group rates.

Gunny, when in Oct were you thinking?

I'd love to head down there again this season (already went once this summer) but doubt I'd be able to make the trek a 2nd time due to my work schedule.

FWIW - Our group of motorcyclists rented a cabin in Wears Valley TN. We rode the Foothills Parkway, the Dragon (of course!), Cherohala Skyway, etc. Some in our group broke off and went to visit Clingman's Dome and other destinations in the area.

While in the area we made stops over at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort for souveniers, had snacks at the Thunder Mountain General Store & Deli in Robbinsville NC ( Thunder Mountain General Store and Deli ) and ate dinner at Kram Bonez BBQ in Tellico Plains TN.

There's just so much to do and see while riding the roads down there, I need to spend a solid week next time. Gonna definitely plan on going next year again, wish I could ride those types of roads everyday ! Sorry, got sidetracked....

Is October a good time to ride with all the leaves falling?

Deals gap

October is the best time because you see around all the turns because there are no leaves and weather is cooler less likely to rain

Ok, all good points. If this happens on a weekend, I may join, would be coming from Canada. My brother in NC may be in too if he's around.

That's not true until late October. Last year I was riding the BRP on October 11th, and the leaves were ON FIRE, spectacular, and not a leaf was on the road. The next morning a rain set in, all the leaves came down, and the BRP was as slick as snot. Point is, October is a "transitional" time. A nice November day, when ALL the leaves are down, is wonderful.
