Looks like a non ABS cbr1000, you work at a main dealer don't you? what is the official line on the (shite) C-ABS on the blades?

Well we've had one instance of the C-ABS fault to deal with that was rectified by replacing the front modulator. The bike was still in warranty and Honda picked up the bill. We have sold many C-ABS Blades and only had this one instance, however it was a reason along with the complicated bleed procedure that made me opt for a non ABS version for sure.

No official line that I know of but if a fault appears whilst still in the warranty period then I've not personally had any problems with Honda covering it. A lot of it depends on how the claim is handled and reported to Honda.

Sounds like the official party line! bit unkind of me to ask on an open forum

Important Notice - Please Read If You own an ABS 2009 Onwards Model | Page 13 | 1000RR - The CBR1000RR Fireblade Forum

you will notice the thread is pinned

I have a 2012 anniversary model and the ABS is fantastic when it's working, but the fact you get a different feel from the lever every time and sometimes the lever comes back to the bar doesn't instill confidence
going to tear all the ABS stuff off it over the winter

The TT is on my bucket list. but doubt I'll get to ride while/if/when I get there; logistics of shipping a bike over the pond isn't good. Unless of course I could buy a Euro model SP while over there...

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

Do it, you can hire bikes on the Island but even if you can't take a bike it's still very special and you'd still have a blast.
