Light weight spindles

Hi All,

After getting a quote for some Ti ones from Ti64, and then picking myself back up off the floor. (unbelievably expensive, and I dont mind spending money on this bike but hell...) I am after some alternatives.

I hear that some of you guys are running 7075 axles/spindles, can you recommend anyone who makes them or Ti ones reliably that cost less than $400 for each item?

Thanks

Jay

Nice, I have a quote from him for Ti but the price is daft.

All I would say is that the ti spindles will always have a resale value the alloy ones not so much
He was reluctant to make the alloy ones but thought that since the bike and I combined are around 250kg
They would be ok

I wouldn't say his prices are daft. High cost, yes but Ti 64 is an expensive material and his time spent on milling stuff like this is considerable. Pete is booked up for months at a time. I'm sure he could use a breather!

Years ago, MetTec made RC51 front and rear axles, and swingarm pivot in Ti.
Their site hasn't shown these items for quite some time.

It does show similar items for CBR1000RR, with prices running $550 to $720 depending on which item (front, rear, pivot bolt).

They may still have the specs for the RC51 on file, so one could give them a call to determine if they can make the items and how much.
