After getting a quote for some Ti ones from Ti64, and then picking myself back up off the floor. (unbelievably expensive, and I dont mind spending money on this bike but hell...) I am after some alternatives.
I hear that some of you guys are running 7075 axles/spindles, can you recommend anyone who makes them or Ti ones reliably that cost less than $400 for each item?
All I would say is that the ti spindles will always have a resale value the alloy ones not so much
He was reluctant to make the alloy ones but thought that since the bike and I combined are around 250kg
They would be ok
I wouldn't say his prices are daft. High cost, yes but Ti 64 is an expensive material and his time spent on milling stuff like this is considerable. Pete is booked up for months at a time. I'm sure he could use a breather!
