Question How to use the Search bar

OK Newbs, before posting up a question and such, It is probably best that you think really hard about it and then RESEARCH the ANSWER. So I thought this might help with those who aren't so savy, lazy or getting it...

First up on the long gray bar below your screen name there is a drop-down SEARCH button.

Click once on it and a magic box appears below it.

Here it gives you the option of typing/ keypunching key words or phrases for your search.

Once you have your topic or phrase then select the SEND button on the menu....Amazing now you have your results that best suit your topic.

Scroll down and Click on the topic YOU think may best answer your question

Hopefully this will help ease your transition from a being a technologically challenged user and inspire you to do some quick homework before presenting a question in this amazing Forum...Was this clear?

What??

Where the hell have you been the last few years.....the thread count should lower by 20% at least due to this simple instruction.

Oh boy, I hope we don't start seeing the search police every time someone asks a question...

I understand where you're going but the condescension as if you are pulling rank kills it for me. I have always liked that this stuff never happens around here. People are helpful without the newb/senior member mentality.

I dont think that would be a problem. It just gets annoying to have to be repeated or read another repeat. Why not just educate the User instead?

JD9 Im here with sailor jerry and pandora trying to set up this Ikea BS stand, during my process in this topic I figured its best to just KISS. It can be easier that way right? If only this TV stand were just as easy.

I can't even begin to decipher what you're going on about there.

Ok, being serious for a minute. Our forum needs a certain amount of activity to stay current and interesting. I know some of the topics get repetitive. Some of the oil or tire threads I don't follow anymore because of that.
But other times, even though it's a redundant question or discussion, it's worth doing an advanced search to pinpoint where you've seen good info in the past. Then link it to the current [redundant] thread. So I agree with your principal idea. We have some great members here who post stuff that you just can't get anywhere else, because it pertains to our specific bikes and whatever specific condition may be going on.
I've seen new information come from the same old topics.
Not saying all of them, but some...

I'm with JD on this one...I'm on several different forums and one local one comes to mind. For every noobie question there is a flame/condescending attitude towards the questions, which in turn becomes a derailed thread.

The noob OP just shuts down and is never to be seen or heard from again. Sad because that said noobie may have had something worthwhile to contribute.
