Lightened Clutch Basket

Anyone know where I could purchase one? Know anyone that could modify the stock unit?

yea, i have 8 units i am working on. I supplied Derrel's (RCCBRZ/Ogiehooker) bike. These are the former Speedcell designed units that durbahn knocked off. I have the drawings/IP etc. They are just kind of a back burner project at the moment.

The stock unit cannot be modified to reduce weight.

There's more weight easier to remove from the flywheel.

right but then you need to run a dual Baja speedcell battery setup or you end up running out of electrical power to run the FI, ECU etc...ask me how I know...

The Baja batteries are twice the capacity of the std speedcell battery and I run 2 of them with a charging port out of the rear cuddy compartment.

What uses up most of the electricity, is warming the bike up 10 minutes in the am...takes 10-20 minutes to fully recharge them after idling/warming to get ready to ride with a full power pak.

After 140 miles of fast riding today, it only took 7-10 monutes to fully recharge the system.

Alt. kit 650 or so-elektrex in UK @ Baja speedcell batteries-500 Charging harness 125
custom undertail/battery box-made my own....Lots of work and money but it makes midrange MUCH better, that and some VP fuel.

VP fuel is the cheapest thing to get 5 extra ponies...use it 50/50 with 87 octane.

I have heard you can shave SOME weight off the stock flywheel but it isn't very much. You can also use Ti bolts on the starter gear )6) to help as well, as I did.

This lightweight alternator setup helps solves one of the biggest problems I always had with the RC-too slow revving. But then light crank, rids, pistons, coatings etc helped too.

I think the clutch basket shaves like 1100 gms ...although it turns only have the rate the crank does...I like my lightweight slipper clutch..lets you freewheel more but not completely into turns.

My 2 cents.

I'm not interested in messing with the stock charging system so no flywheel adjustments for me. Where did you source the TI bolts for the starter gear? What are you using for your slipper?

My flywheel is 300 grams lighter (2200 - 1900), no problems on the road. Purchased it years ago from a guy in Portugal. Plan to take it a further step by step.
