My like new bike was vandalized

Hi Everyone,

Well, after 5 years of bike ownership while living in an apartment building my bike has finally been vandalized. My building, as well as the surrounding buildings have never had a problem but early last Saturday morning at 1:30am 3 teenagers - as seen on camera - smashed in the front of a scooter, pushed over my bike into my wife's bike and then ran a block over to another building and vandalized the 5 bikes that were parked there.

Waking up Saturday morning to see my bike leaning against another bike was tough. It has never been past 45 degrees and it is in like new condition but I guess there are worse things.

In an amazing turn of luck when the bike was tipped over it went over its kick stand and fell into the frame slider of the other bike and came to rest. With the back wheel off the ground the bikes gas tank settled against the frame slider and was held up by the kick stand and front wheel. This means that the only damage to both bikes is just my tank (which was mint), and I guess in that respect I am very lucky.

I have attached some photos of the teenagers, a damaged scooter, my tank, and how we found the bikes. Take pleasure in my pain lol.

I went to a Honda dealership and was told that Honda does not have a new 2003 tank in their national inventory. Does anyone know a supplier that might have one in stock? I am looking for a new or like new replacement.

Bike Bandit.com had some new tanks when I checked their site a month or so ago. About $870.00 I believe. Not sure if every year was available. Hopefully they caught those little pricks. Make em pay, or their parents anyway.
Red Flash likes this.

I just called Bike Bandit and they said that they list things like this as in stock but they will need 24 hours to do a search of their suppliers to know for sure. I placed an order for a new tank and the guy said he would call me tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Hope you get it. Your '03 tank was listed at only $650.00 a few minutes ago. '02 was $1074.00, and unavailable.

I would order it today, I missed out on the last one in existence on my 1990 VFR, and regret waiting a few weeks versus just pulling the trigger......

Yeah, they are all the same. I ordered some fairing decals for my katana without first calling. They had them listed as "In Stock". They took my money, and then emailed me 3 or 4 days later with the bad news. Bike Bandit did the same. They all get their stock from the same National suppliers, or manufacturers. Good luck!

Well, I have a very sad update to this thread. Last night at 4:10am my bike was stolen. I attached a photo of the white pickup and trailer that took it. Video shows it driving to where a Bobcat was parked, then driving around the lot until they pulled up to my bike and lifted it into the back of the trailer. Seems like they just didn't want to leave empty handed. It appears it had nothing to do with the vandals last week.

RIP - you truly will be missed.

Somebody needs a visit from Moose and Rocco! Soprano style! Hopefully the Cops should have enough footage, to find those shit birds? Did you end up getting that tank?
