Ladybird exhaust

I recently bought a set of the Ladybird type 5 tri ovals , I love the pipes , but they're a bit LOUD. I'd like to take the edge off without strangling them much , has anybody got inserts in theirs and if so , what are the outlet sizes ?

Hey Joe

if you bought those ladybirds new then you probably bought from Simon kobe Japan he's likely the best person to ask about your noise concerns & which dB killers would fit those particular cans

Good, Simon is a nice guy & an asset to the RC51 community supplying quality custom parts for a 19 year old motorcycle when no one else will. .

Post some pics or a video of the new exhaust when you can

Well , unfortunately the inserts he's got have 20mm outlets , WAY too small. I'll have to do some testing and make my own.

I don't normally mind loud , but these are LOUD. I measured 84 decibels idling and 99 at 7k RPM on my stands in first gear dragging the brake. I'm a little apprehensive getting on it , it's that loud , you know , scaring children or drawing unwanted ''official'' attention. After a 45 minute ride my ear drums were starting to hurt. At least it's not hideous sounding like a loud inline four.

Loud yes... reminds me going through inspection cracking the throttle and the harley riders a few lanes over farther up turned around lol. Simon usually pretty good about getting baffles. I will check mind now curious of the diameter of restriction. I went from the gp to gp longs to try to get the noise further away. The young guy 20 years ago enjoyed but like you it bothers the ears after sometime on the bike now.

He Emailed me again today about some wider baffles , he's going to get me some measurements. I'm going to experiment with some 2'' copper pipe caps with different sized holes through the center.
