SP2 wheels, 2003-2006 600RR are direct swap with RC spacers, 929/954 and 2004-2007 1000RR can be swapped out but require a little more work because the axle size is different.

What are the benifits of putting sp2 wheels on an sp1. Is there significant weight shaved off?

They are lighter.. I have SP2 forks and swing arm on my SP1 so the swap made sense.. IIm not sure how much weight total I have lost from the process..

SP2 wheels are a little lighter than SP1, and the 3 spoke CBR/RR wheels are a little lighter than the SP2 wheels. For the 3 spoke wheels, you can make anything work, but the 600RR are a direct swap for Front only and 1000RR for Rear only.

how about adapting CBR600RR 2007-2015 front wheel to an Rc51. besides spacers, what has to happen to the hub or axle?

Just sayin, but the easiest swap of CBR1KRR front wheels are the 2012+ wheels, and I have kits to convert them as well.
