the parts bin... questions about SP2 swap parts

ok, so I want an extra set of wheels. i am tired of looking for SP2 only parts... they are hard to find and guys usually take advantage of the supply<demand equation and jack the prices... I know I know, simple economics!

BUT that doesn't mean we SP2 owners need to be victim to this tyranny!

I already know:

2007-2009 CBR 1kRR front fork assembly bolts onto SP2

Looking for fitment UPGRADES

So, I heard a 2007+ ZX9 rear shock is an upgrade from the stock SP2

Wheels? Any direct swap? I know we can swap any 17" wheel, swap the bearings and the rotor placement is what I am concerned about.

Modification... Part Numbers with * at the end

The RC51 axle collar is to small in size and the axle won't fit. So use the CBR1000rr collar, but it needs to be cut down to 109mm from 112 or so... The inside distance of the wheel is different. If you don't the wheels bearings won't be able to sit all the way in... Now to get the collar to fit inside of the wheel, you need to dremel the middle axle opening in the wheel bigger. It almost fits but needs 3mm to 4mm of help. This leads to the next mod.

Next is the front right spacer needs to be longer by ~2 mm. I found a few shims local the where .94 mm thick each.

After that tighten all bolts to factory specs and enjoy. I took the new wheels to the canyons today and didn't feel a difference of the .5 lbs of the front wheel. Now if you do a part number search the CBR954RR, the parts numbers are the same for the front parts (so search).
