SP2 bodywork

Hello everyone,

I'm a new member but I've owned my 04' RC51 for 3 years now and I have a quick question about the compatibility of the bodywork from year to year. Decals and paint schemes/colors aside, do the panels from say an 03' have the same physical dimensions as the 04'. I have a chance to get a good condition set of 03' lowers but I want to be sure they'll bolt right up to my 04' upper. I believe they should but I want to be sure as I cannot compare them side by side.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I think that panels are the same fit per generation. So SP1 (00-01) are compatible and SP2(02-06) are compatible however i do not believe that the service manual differentiate's between models in the sections relating to removing them. Maybe they are universal....Color schemes are a different story

The lower cowls should all bolt up the same.
The SP1 uses a different lower inner cowl than the SP2 due to relocated oil cooler.
The SP1 lower inner cowl uses 8 trim clips while the SP2 uses 6.
