PowerCommander IIIr

My rc came with a PCIIIr already installed. Is the PCIIIUSB an easy swap for the PCIIIr?

why would you switch?? I'm guessing it's because of the connections but you can get a DB9 to USB, I got one for mine and it works perfectly.

I use this one:

It got crappy reviews but guess what, it transferred my maps to the PCIIIr!

The PCIIIr has a connector for the timing pulse generator (red connector near alternator) due to the PCIIIr's ability to alter ignition advance.
The PCIIIUSB doesn't use that connection.
They both use similar gray connectors and ground wire.
Otherwise they are similar in installation.

Yeah, it was because of the connectors to load maps. Thanks for the info.

If you do decide to switch from PCIIIr to PCIIIUSB, if you bought the USB to Serial converter cable, you can download and save your existing map, then use the software to convert and upload the old map to your PCIIIUSB without having to re-dyno the bike.
