NissanZtt's new SP2 Hayden

Well I finally got my rc51. I made an account on here a while back to do some research and make sure this is what I wanted for sure. I drove two days straight pretty much to go get this and bring it back. I'm surprised my head didn't explode from the stress!

She's a 2004 with almost 20k miles. Sato exhaust, pc3, sato rear sets, -1 front +2 rear sprockets, carbon hugger (brand?), pazzo levers, k&n intake, and a box full of extra stuff.. The box has the flapper and pair valve in it with all the vacuum tanks and solenoid. Along with the stock gearing and rear sets. All I've done to it is added a super sic and kato decal, and washed it I guess

I have to say, I've ridden a stock sp1 that was kind of dogged out, and this thing is crazy compared to that. It is super touchy in the low end almost instantly off idle. It's going to take a little getting used to! I'm used to my inline four bikes where you grab a handful and wait for a bit of revs to build before you get any power.

Looks a nice NH edition! Appears to be a Magical Racing hugger, which might be why there's the sticker on the swing arm. I have some smaller ones if you want a more discreet one.
The left exhaust tip seems to be pointing sideways in the pic? If it's because the PO damaged it, Duckhunter can fix it for you. Enjoy!

It might look that way because of the wide angle lens I used. The exhaust is in great shape, looks brand new.

Super bike man!
You might want to hook up a computer and find out what map is installed on your PC3.
I'd also be considering a valve clearance inspection unless you know it was already done.

Beautiful bike, love the carbon Sato's.

I think Nicky is a great rider. It's too bad he hasn't had the best bike in motogp as of late. Too bad they didn't make a Colin Edwards Edition, or a Joey Dunlop replica, I'd even take a Sazuka Rossi/Edwards bike..

I was kind of wondering about the map on there. I have no idea if it's something he had downloaded or if it was something done by a shop with a dyno.. so I'll probably take a look at it and have everyone chime in. I'm not sure on the valves. Either way I plan on doing them this winter. They don't tick at all though and there is no hard starting.

I love the exhaust. My only concern is how to protect the carbon from sunlight. I've seen carbon fade and start to white out a lot. These cans seem super dry as far as resin goes, you can almost feel the weave. would it be smart to wax them? or is there something special I should be using?

Watch out with carbon sleeves on the RC51. The power pulses and heat will soon whittle away the wadding inside which then begins first making the carbon look drier as you describe, then making it soft and finally making holes in the carbon. I got sick of replacing wadding (It's not a nice job to do) so the last time I replaced my sleeves with titanium - from Akrapovic. I'm sure the wadding's burnt away a lot, but now I don't need to care any more.

From what I'm putting together I think the exhaust has been on there for a little over 1000 miles. I've packed exhausts before but those laser cut sato bands look extremely delicate haha. It just seems like they were made with a minimal amount of resin to keep them light and maybe they don't have a good amount of UV protection. I'm probably just being paranoid, it will be garage kept at all times anyways haha. Does sato use the same old fiberglass in these or something better?

I was trying to persuade Pete at Ti64 to send Duckhunter enough titanium shavings to pack a can with them once, but we never got too far. Something like that would never degrade.
