RC friendly textile pants?

Looking for some, I have standard aluminum yoshimura exhaust. My old joe rocket ballistic over pants ( POS's) for commuting melt and make a mess and I don't want to wear leather pants to work. I am no Jim Morrisson! Anyone have some that work.

Cheers

I'm no Jim Morrisson either, lol, so I hear you on that one! I decided to buy Icon Automag leather pants. You should look into them and try a pair on before you rule out the leather. They are so much more protection, and a complete breeze to get in an out of. About $250. At first I was checking with my friends, "Hey do I look like Moto Ricky Racer or what"? They assured me they look pretty decent and low key.
I propably wouldn't use them for track, but they're great for comfort and convience for street and commuting.

Ok thanks, ill check them out. My biggest beef with leather pants for off track use ( I have alpine stars leather jeans) is that I can't wear real jeans underneath and they are a pain to change in and out of at the office.

Haha, I can think of several reasons!

- I don't want to sell my RC to finance the inevitable divorce that would follow

- breathability or lack thereof and my disdain for Gold Bond medicated powders

- my stature is more Dani Pedrosa than Vin Diesel and leather pants don't make me any taller

I may try it though...

I had a set of the Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants. They worked OK as overpants or by themselves. Like you though I was disturbed at how easily they tore, the build quality isn't there.

So just last year I bought a pair of the Tourmaster Flex pants. I have been very impressed with them so far. Same concept as the Alter Ego's where you can remove panels that reveal mesh for pretty good airflow especially in the muggy summers here in NC. They also have two liners, one rain and another insulated, where you can use both, one or the other, or none. I've ridden below 32 for over an hour with just the insulated liner and pants along with thermal underwear and my lower body was fine.

I can wear my work slacks under the pants (with no liners installed) for the commute and they are plenty comfortable on the RC51. They have adjustable CE knee armor and foam hip armor. I'm 6'0", 205lbs and wear 36x32 jeans and the Flex in XL fits great for every application so far. They are long enough to cover most of my Oxtar Matrix and A* SMX+ boots.

It does get tight if I wear both liners though so I try to avoid that. I've ridden in light rain (and even a snow flurry!) and my clothes never got wet underneath. They also have very reflective piping down each leg that I definitely like as I commute in the dark in the winter. I highly recommend these pants!

This is a picture of mine. I got mine from Riders Discount...they tuck into your boots which is what I prefer.
