SP2 to replace a Gixxer 600?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and would like to know your opinion regarding this "problem" i've been dealing with.

I currently own a 07 Gixxer600 and is now being offered a 2005 SP2. My question is...Is it a good decision to replace my gixxer with the SP2? Can anyone please give some objective Pros and Cons regarding this matter?

I used to own an aprilia and i do miss the performance of a V-twin...though i'm very satisfied with the gixxer, i need some convincing on why the SP2 is a better choice...

Thanks.

Nice, i almost bought an 09 RSV R Factory. The RC is definitely more along the line of the Aprilia. Which do you enjoy more? the Ape or the GSXR 600? The RC has a lot more character. More soul like the Apes do, but the 600 as you know is a more agile bike, easier to flick around through the twisties. Are you using the bike as a daily rider for commuting or just for weekends?

Well in the looks department, it honestly looks kinda outdated in my opinion. But i do like the overall look, i just wish some body parts could be changed to make it have an updated look...

If the RC is similar to the Ape, that is great news to me. I really enjoyed the Ape and how it handled. Between the Ape and the Gixxer, i believe the Ape takes the cake. The thing i like most about the gixxer is it has a lower seat height and overall lighter bike. I'm only 5'6" so seat height is kind of an issue LOL. I use my bike on weekends and commute with it from time to time.

You haven't seen the post from Speedzilla where a member retrofitted the bike with '06 Honda fairings??

Its not practical for the street.

Beside a BMW or Goldwing, where you gonna find a bike that fits more than just you credit card and driver license in the tail??

With the Rc....you won't be disappointed.

LOL...very good points.

I wouldn't want to change the fairings, just maybe update the tail lights, turnsignals...and oh, is the bracket in the front (above the cluster) holding the front cowl really necessary?

your 600 will turn faster times on the track then the rc51 , but if your only riding on the street , then the RC51 will set you apart from the rest of the cookie cutter bikes .. i used to ride 04 zx10r track bike for years and then a 08 zx10r , tons of power light and fast ,,, but aways missed my 02 rc51 ,,, now i have a 03 rc51 and sure i did a lot of work to it , and it will never be as fast or handle as good as my zx10rs ,, but the RC51 is a bike you love or hate , i love it
