Chain length

I've searched but couldn't find this specific answer. Will 15/41 or 15/42 work with 106 links on an SP2? I am looking to change gearing and my chain is in great shape.

Yeah the stock length will work no problem.

Garage
If you have a hugger on the rear swingarm, you *might* encounter clearance issues with it.

On my -new to me- SP2, the shop put a 42T at the rear (we left the front as is), the chain was re-used no problem with length (only like 2k miles used).
also fitted a 190/55 and this caused the hugger to rub. we moved it a bit forward (drilled extra holes in the CF). not a "perfect" solution, but then again the bike is not going to spend its life on a pedestal show case. :-)

give her a good clean afterwards!

And yes, that decal is now gone :-)

Old enough to know better, young enough not to care.

dutchy, he's reducing the size of the front sprocket in both these configurations. so he'll be fine.

And no hugger, so no issue there. I can slide the axle all the way forward without the tire hitting the swingarm.

Renthal 41T sprockets are back ordered, so I had to go with a 42T rear.

15/42 is good too. Been running that for 6 years.
