basic racer harness questions

hello,
been lurking here for awhile. lots of awesome info and really enjoyable reading. there are some amazing bikes and very knowledgeable folks on here. finally picked up an rc51 sp2. it is going to be my track bike, replacing a 1st gen sv650. the wiring harness on it is pretty hacked up so I decided to see if I could find a basic racer harness (I know, next to impossible) out there instead of spending a bunch of money on a stock harness to modify. I ended up finding a parts supplier that said he found one in japan. what I received from him was part number 32100-nl6-600. am I correct in thinking that what I needed was 32100-nl6-620? that is what I have been able to find searching here and elsewhere in the internet. what I received seems to have all the right connections at the rear of the harness, but the front of it is where I am having issues. I have copies of the oem harness diagram, the modified diagram and the basic racer diagram from links here. these have been very helpful, but the issue I am having is there doesn't seem to be the correct connection for the stock gauge cluster, among other issues. the guy I got it from insists that is the part number he has for the basic racer harness. is the 600 part number for the complete racer harness that used different gauges? any ideas you guys have would be much appreciated. have done a bunch of searching but haven't found anything that directly answers my questions. thanks in advance for any assistance anyone is able to offer!

The Complete Racer wire harness was 32100-NL6-000.
HRC parts for the RC51 were NL6 in the part number.
I have no parts list for the Basic Racer.
Regardless, anything NL6 is long, long gone, unless lurking in some dark recess of a warehouse or shop or basement.

What I do have are a couple of wiring diagrams that might allow you to convert your OEM butchered harness into a Basic Racer harness.
Here are the links to the diagrams:

Sub, thanks for the reply. I have copies of those diagrams and they have been very helpful in tracing where some of the harness goes. I have a screenshot of the harness I purchased that I will attempt to attach to this post. The front section of the harness doesn't have the right connection for the gauge sub-harness. It also does not appear to have a connection for the ignition harness from the right hand controls. It was my understanding that the basic racer harness was plug and play. I am planning on using the diagrams to see if some rewiring is possible, if not I'll dig into the original harness and start rebuilding and removing stuff. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure I ended up with the basic racer harness. It does have the nl6 part number. I traced and figured out 90 percent of the wires and connections. Was having a tough time with the tach and a couple of other connections. Looked like I would have to rewire or source a different tach. Ended up getting a non cut stock one and turned it into a stripped race harness which is funny because it involved more cutting soldering and rewiring than making the basic racer would have. It works though and is much cleaner than what was on it when I got it. Fired it up for the first time in almost a year the other day and it started first push. Pretty excited to get it on the track. Long winded post, sorry.

No issue. I dealt with the same thing years ago. Damon on speedzilla was a life saver and there is some documentation I have that explains the ins and outs of both harnesses.

Just for future knowledge, the basic racer harness requires a wire/pin to be relocated within the connector in order for the stock gauge to work correctly, it was either for the tach or speedo, but was a very easy fix. Takes 10 secs.

The complete racer harness, has a bunch of differences to include a connection for the HRC tuner box and also was designed for an analogue tachometer.

Don't cut up that complete racer harness......they are incredibly rare and are essential for guys that have the HRC throttle bodies and tuner box.

When you get home, if you don't mind I'd like to see the documentation you have on the harness. I can provide an email address if that helps. Thanks.
