Rear Shock

I know OHLINs build best shock...but it expensive..
I also have check with WP..cost a bomb..

So i ordered mine HYPER PRO 3D piggy back rear shock from my local dealer & cost me $1400 Singapore dollars ..

I will fix this in Decmber with my Turnone parts & will DYno it...

Max, did you try Penske or Elka also?
They're less expensive than Ohlins as well.
Moot point since you've bought, but was just checking.

Today feel my balls itch, so when down to my local dealer to fixed my Rear Shock & indeed i have a shocked of my life...When tested, the rear felt very soft & the height is less then my stock till when i sat on it, my rear number plate hit the tyre ...seems that the spring is short. Before i bought it, i told them my weight.....Now waiting for the dealer answer..as i have to fix back the original....


WHY, WHy this happen today....till my wife busted me buying the Shock...he..he as she just approved me buying the kevlar airbox & the Snorkel from turnone...(luckly paid to Brett yesterday)..he..he

As for the Ohlin..ard $1800

Once solved the problem, my next project is front spring or preload...any recommend SUb?

If your forks are stock, you'll need to have the correct spring rate for your combined rider & bike weight.

You can get Race-Tech, Traxxion Dynamics, Hyperpro, or other's springs.
The springs should cost around $100 USD per set (both springs) in USA.
I have no idea what they cost in Singapore.

As for compression and rebound valves, again Race-Tech and Traxxion Dynamics, and Ohlins have their valve kits. You can also obtain the valve kits from Kyle Racing as well which are based on Ohlins design.
Hyperpro doesn't have much of a presence (sales or support) in the States as they do in Europe, which is why I don't mention them much.

Then you choose a good fork oil to use.
For the street/track use, Ohlins said the typical oil is around 16 cSt (centi-stokes), while for track only use it may be 26 cST.

What standard is the cST? Seems like it would be more accurate.

what is the ballbark cost for parts and install costs to get a stock set of forks to where they need to be? I am 220 and plan on putting a aftermarket rear shock on and would like the front forks to be upgraded as well

When Ohlins hit me with that, I asked "what the hell is a centistoke?".
A centistoke is a measurement of kinematic viscosity.

Ohlins and other suspension companies don't go by weight of oil (like 5 wt, or 7 wt).
They measure the effective viscosity of oil at various temperatures and conditions.
It's actually a more scientific standard than oil weight.
We'll probably see more use of it as time goes on.
Some manufacturers site have a table showing values in weight and centistokes.

When I asked Ohlins about the #4 oil in my forks, they said it was 16 cSt, which is good for street and track days. And that for track only/race use, then 26 cSt is recommended.
