Hi guys. Someone buggered around with the one head of my sp1. The agents say that I need to replace the head and cams, even though there is nothing wrong with the cams. Only the head. They say that you can't use different cams on a head, that they are a set. Is this true? Or are they trying to take me for a ride?...
Otherwise, there wouldn't be a set measurement for cam journal diameter in the service manual.
You'd have a situation like the rod and crankshaft bearings where each has a marking to match bearings for proper cleareance.
The cams ride directly on the journals in the head, and there are no bearings.
Looks like someone took a pencil grinder to the head close to where the valve sits and also where in the cup that holds the cam shaft. Bit of scoring on cam shaft hope I can get it polished out. Mmm some people.
