Ok. You smell fuel, so I'm guessing the fuel pump primes properly?
Does the tach cycle when the key is switched on, indicating the ECU is alive and passing it's self-test?
And does it show an FI code for a possible problem with a sensor/component connection?
Have you pulled a plug, grounded it and checked for presence of a spark? It may be electrical/ignition related.

the tach does cycle.
no fi code.
have not pulled a plug yet but it does seem like its not getting spark
everything seems right but not starting. did you read wher i said that i yanked the wire out of the boot? dont you just need to rethread it if that happens? they are new plugs also but are the recomended ones out of the manual

ok its started. i remembered when i took the left radiater off, there were 2 red connections in the harness that look the same. 1 of the connections were not plugged in when i got there. so i unplugged both and swapped one set and left the other unplugged it instantly fired up. what are those connections and why would one not be plugged in?

The set of red connectors is from the pulse generator behind the alternator cover.
That was your culprit. No signal to the converter unit to create the spark.

Are you running a PCIIIr? Because the PCIIIr has a set of connectors that interconnect between the pulse generator and ECU.
It will run without them, but they were there in order to tweak ignition timing.

i am running a pcIIIr! damn your good. ok now you should know that it has never lit up. i have seen them on youtube lit up in green. mine will not at anytime. i didnt see any other connection so should i leave the 1 set diconnected? one of the wires loops to the other?

Yep. The pulse generator connector loops through the Power Commander and back to the other pulse generator connector.
Kind of how the ECU connector does on it's way to Power Commander and on to the injector harness connector.
It obviously won't hurt to run without them disconnected.
No one tweaked the timing anyways I've heard of.

That's why I removed my PCIIIr and replaced it with a PCIIIUSB.
One less set of connections to potentially cause problems, and one Power Commander that is much easily accessed by computer.

Also make sure your Power Commander negative lead is securely fastened to the negative battery post and not some frame ground.
