Clutch replacement?

I am having some issues with my clutch, I am going to try flushing the lines and see if It fixes the problem. However if it does not I'm going to crack it open. When fixing a clutch is it best to just replace the whole darn thing? I don't want to rip it apart and replace the friction plates then the springs go bad 6 months later. I am also considering upgrading to a slipper clutch. Is it worth the cost to upgrade? I am planning on tracking my bike in the near future so thatís why I am considering a slipper. Are their any special tools I will need for working on the clutch? I've done cars before but never motorcycles.

As for the slipper im not sure

but for clutch replacement just do it all, all the steel plates and all the friction plates, and the springs.

if its similar to my katana and my guess is it is,

remove plastics
drain oil
remove casing
remove springs
tip bike over some and slide all the plates out remembering which order they were

re install in reverse order, also find out if your friction plates need to be soaked (impregnanted) in the oil you will be using

just my .02 but its fairly easy overall and saves a lot of money.
