exhaust header size

Anyone have any ideas on which exhaust system to run on a fully built engine? I have heard stock headers are good to 140 rwhp or so...Just wondering if mine need to be changed and if so, to what. I currently have stock headpipes with moriwaki Ti exhaust (low mount-tks rc devil)....

I've seen some of Simon's stuff and just sent an email concerning the replica works exhaust but it says that it is a STREET BASED system styled after the works bike, so I am assuming, its stock headpipe diameter...maybe I am searching for a solution that doesn't have a problem yet....

I doubt you'd see any kind of significant power drop off using stock headers even if the motor is significantly modified. and even if there was a small gain to be had by going up in diameter, the exhaust port would need to enlarged also. Since you're not changing valve size that would then become the limiting factor on the exhaust side. If you open everything up, velocity will drop along with cylinder scavenging and the bottom end and mid range will suffer. Since you don't have access to gear selections that would allow you to keep within a very narrow RPM band, I'd stick with a fatter torque curve and normal (smaller) header diameters.
