high-speed engine surging

2002 SP2, 23,000 miles. Full Two Brother's twin can low mounts, Power Commander IIIusb, flapper mod, environmentals removed, valves checked at 16,000 and were in-spec. I live in 29 Palms, Mojave Desert, have had the bike for three years and put the last 10,000 miles on it with zero issues. Bike was ridden every couple weeks by my buddy while I was in Afghanistan for most of 2011 and I've been on the track several times since I came back with no issues until.... Last track day engine started coughing, stuttering and surging around 110mph on the straights. Next day I went to an empty road near my home and experienced the same engine response in every gear that will hit those speeds. Bike will not accelerate above 117mph. It is not in any way related to RPMs because I can peg it in 1st, 2nd, 3rd with no issues, it's only when I hit those speeds. Thought it may be a fuel/air issue as I'm getting more air forced into the engine at 100mph then at 50mph but really have no idea and the nearest mechanic with RC credibility is 3 hours away, not an easy afternoon trip, especially not while on active duty. Any knowledge is appreciated.

Could be an electrical issue (coils, sparkplug wires, etc).
As you're increasing speed, does the problem occur at certain RPM range?
Do you feel the power drop off or fade away prior to the engine starting to misfire or stutter?

Negative, it is solely speed dependent. Power is strong and consistent up until approximately 110 when it begins to surge/misfire.

Reload your map and see if that helps.
