mobil 1 vtwin

has anyone tried this? it is 20-50 so i dont know if it is to heavy for the rc. i used to run it during the summer on my old oil cooled gsxr, and it dropped the temp a good 10 degrees. as summer approaches just looking for ways to keep her cooler. ill stick with motul or amsoil depending on availability if too heavy

I wouldnt use it in your RC, 20-50 is made for air cooled Harleys etc which have big internal clearances, unlike the RC.

Its a preference thing 10W40 or 20W50...I use the 20W50 and have never had an issue. Of course, my riding season starts (if I am lucky) late March/ early April.

Air-cooled engines run much warmer than liquid cooled engines, and they also have larger piston clearances that liquid cooled engines don't have due to inconsistent temperatures.
Within the middle operating temperature ranges, there's not much difference between the two oils.
In cooler mornings, the viscosity will be 20W vs 10W, so it may be a bit sluggish cranking over if the weather is cool enough.
And unless the ambient temperature is very hot (as it would be in AZ or NV during summer) the 50W is overkill.

I saw the Mobil 1 Racing 4t 10w-40 at advance but I didnt see anything on the bottle that said V-Twins. I did have my 3 year old son who was flirting with the counter girl so maybe I missed it. Guess I will go back and get some.
