I think he just hasn't put enough oil in to see it in the sight glass. As I recall, it won't show until you've got at least 3.5 qt's in there.
Am I right or wrong?

Update!

There is oil now in the window! I had recently done an oil change but had bought a faulty oil filter so I had actually flushed the oil 3 times.after which the oil started to appear.I guess the previous owner neglected oil changes or the bike has been sitting for awhile before u purchased it! Anyway thanks for the input fellas!

I'm wondering how a faulty filter prevented you from seeing oil. How did you come to this conclusion. This is a new one to me, that's why I ask...

I would guess also the same, but the thread stater can open the drain plug to see if there is oil dripping.

I'm with you on this, no way a faulty filter unless it was leaking could be the culprit...
