Why would you switch from Synthetic to regular oil?

$....I dont put allot of miles on my bike each year...I also dont like letting used oil sit all winter in my motor..So why spend $50 in syn and put maybe 1500k on it and change the oil? Just asking...I always have runned Yamalube in all my bikes..I know the RC has been using Syn so just wondering if its harmful to switch back? thx!

I have always been told- "You really think the f**K'n engine, know the difference."

When Syn-oils were first introduced - Alot of conventional oils WEREn't compatible.(on a melecular level) But now "HELL the conventional oils have so many additives...

I've had 3 different oils in my bike in the last 8 months. I can feel a difference between all three. Very subtle, yet noticable.
The bike DOES know.

If you research SYN oils, the oils were delevoped to reduce friction-to allow more free running of the engine, run the engine cooler, which theoretically produce more H.P./torque.
So i would agree with "noticable".

On a different note- Has anyone noticed, when you changed your bike from Conven' oil to the SYN oil, of the change in exhaust smell ??
When I changed all my bikes to Motul 300V (green blood-as my kids call it) and the smell that aroused in the shop.. Sweet,aroma..

I was told this the very reasoning behind Fords decision to specify a lite-weight 5w-20 Synthetic blend for the engine in my 05 F150. Same with the trans and rear-end.

Honda HP4S or Mobil 1 for me and my RC.
