Simon Percival is your best shot at finding anything. He had a HRC ecu couple weeks ago but I believe it's been sold. His eBay store is "hard parts Japan" , his email is [email protected].

I believe to use and get the maximum out of any HRC specific part, you need to the HRC racer wiring harness and other items like tuning box, throttle bodies, injectors, and also motor work done. It's not something you would just use on a standard bike, but I am no expert either. Your best bet to get any HRC part would be to talk with Simon. Also use the search here, I am sure it's been discussed before.

That is correct. The wiring harness is very different, to include connectors and sensors. There are two different HRC harnesses, The basic racer and complete racer. The basic racer is compatible with a stock bike, but has no lights etc.

The complete racer kit included the ECU, TB's, Tuner box, etc.

The HRC ECU is not a plug and play upgrade.

I just picked up a SP2 race bike with the HRC ECU, wire harness (which one, I donít know yet), pistons, cams, with Moriwaki air box and ram air intake. I am going through the bike now. Once I get it set, I want to get it on a dyno. How do I tune the ECU if I need to? Also, my bike does not have gauges. I picked up a stock cluster. Is there any way to wire that into the HRC harness?

I donít know much about the HRC parts, so any help I can get I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Hey Jordan. You will run into a few issues if you have all the Complete works HRC stuff. The stock guages will not work with a complete racer harness. The harnesses are completely different and in addition the Gauge on the HRC bike was an analogue tachometer....no speedometer.

Also, the HRC harness has a connector up front in which the tuning box is supposed to be hooked up to for tuning......you will not be able to hook up a power commander without rewiring a bunch of things and creating a new connection point.

Nothing is impossible, but what this really requires is a detailed understanding of the entire wiring diagrams of the stock SP2 and HRC harness. After that you will have to re-wire/create more connections and wiring on the HRC harness.

Is the bike an actual HRC bike or just an SP2 with some upgrades?

Do you have the HRC manual or wiring diagrams?

My bike is a 2004 SP2 with the HRC parts added. I am just getting into it, so I have not gotten into the heads yet to prove I have what I have been told I have. I hope I didnt get ripped off.

I can see that I have the Moriwaki parts and wiring harness, so I am hoping the engine parts are there.

I have a wire harness diagram in the FSM. Is there a diagram for the basic racer harness or the factory harness? I am not very electrical orientated. I can do some simple things, but I will need help with getting it right. I definitely do not want to melt it down, or fry my ECU.

As far as gauges go, I only want a tach, oil light, and a temp gauge. I was hoping there is a way to connect the sensors to the factory gauge. I am not against putting an analog tach on top of the ram air. I really need a temp gauge too. An oil light is a good thing to prevent big issues if I have problems during a race.

Gotcha. I wouldn't be too worried about it. You probably have some stage 2 cams and an HRC valvetrain in there. That stuff is really rare these days. I have a bunch of wiring diagrams as well as the HRC manual I can send to you. I got really deep into the 3 wiring harnesses types with my project. I currently have 2 basic racer harnesses and a complete racer harness and throttle bodies, tuner box, etc. as well, so i'd be more than happy to help you out. PM your email address and I'll send you all of the PDF stuff i have.

It's been a long time since i've dug through my RC stuff, but let me know how i can help and i'll start going through all of it.
