Nice write up. Keep this rolling on the WWII items....maybe we could ask our Pacific theater friends for their information/pictures if any of it is close by.
Not much here in Japan
And all their equipment etc was junk anyway, and the whole place was decimated by B-29's and P-51s back in the day..
They still worship the bloody Yamato though and cling onto that as "Japanese superiority" (which was sunk by a few helldivers for christs sake)
But the Hiroshima peace museum is unreal.Very surreal displays (manikins of children with their faces melted and skin hanging off them for one, with recordings of moanings and screaming in the background)
one exhibit are the (long and twisted) fingernails of a 5 year old boy...he was so thirsty that he sucked the puss from the ends of his fingers to try to quench that to until he died a few days later from radiation.
many many shocking stories and photos there...
Strange contrast here-one the one hand museums and places such as Hiroshima, and decent intelligent people
On the other hand racist arrogant nationalists who believe Japan is a divine country and other races are below them (very creepy, and many people are like this)
can be a very lonely country to live for a foreigner..
