A great day!...

Well it's been an awesome month this summer with my son, he lives with his mother about 350kms away from me and every other weekend doesn't seem enough.

So my month of July there has been no riding as he is a shit tonne more important to me than any bike. Wanting to spend as much time together means a lot to the kid and to me.

As his last weekend of the summer (won't see him all of August since he will be going to Ontario to visit some of his mothers bf family), I asked what do you want to do today?

He says "go karts" dad, well we have a pretty good outdoor track here so off we went...
Well I'll be damned he's a chip off of the old block, my boy can drive he has no inclination to ride but we are already talking about a kart so we can go racing.

He has good intuition out threre and was passing people on the inside and out, he figured the fast racing lines on the track and when we rode tandem I sat and giggled the whole time he was driving.

He may not want to ride (yet) but he has his old man's blood in him that's for sure!

Good times folks good times...

Excellent stuff!

I remember my mum doing the same with my brother & I (In cottage country of Ontario) when we were kids. It sure got me interested in driving fast! & we had a blast racing each other round & round. To this day we still love carts and one of the most fun days was getting my dad, 3 brothers and some of our cousins together to race carts. It was hillarious fun.

If you give your son an off-road bike to try out, I reckon judging by his natural enjoyment of fast things - guaranteed he's gonna love it!

My dad gave me a 2-stroke trials bike when I was 14 and told me to go ride it with my cousin in the countryside and my first question was, "Dad, but aren't bikes dangerous?" He just said - "Go ride it and you'll see if you enjoy it or not". One day riding on dirt roads & I was hooked.
