What I Did On Vacation.

Good Day, Gentlemen.
I apologize for being away from the Forum for so long, as I'd been off work since last December 20th. Just got back to work a couple of days ago & wanted to let you guys know that all is well. I realize that I don't contribute much to this Forum because I'm poor at doing maintenance on the bike & am technically disinclined at all things mechanical.
My stories are my way of contributing to this wonderful Forum & since I traveled quite a bit the last 3 months, I thought I'd share my glimpse into the different places I'd visited & share pictures & stories in a chronological fashion.
I'd been away for quite some time & also forgot my username & password, since both were changed (for a reason that I forget), before I left for vacation. And hence even more of a delay in getting back on. I've just been able to check the Forum for messages only, mainly from The Stig in Japan & have been unable to reply to posts, because of being at home with 2 small kids & a baby & trying to give my wife a break from her childcare duties, so that she could also get some much needed rest.
I'll post up my trips & adventures from the States in Dec - Jan & Pakistan in Feb & some of my travels in the Kingdom in Mar. soon, God-Willing.
I want to mention that it was great to talk to Jondog9, Weyrauchrc51 & James03rc & LuckyAdam in Seattle, while I was in the States. I still have to call RC-Devil in Atlanta & DuckHunter in Vancouver. Sorry, Guys. But traveling with 3 small kids was very hectic & I got your telephone numbers rather late & that made it more difficult because of the 9 hour time difference, as well. I lost 3 Kilograms weight or about 6.5 lbs, running ragged on vacation. It actually feels good to be back at work. Go figure (!).
Anyway.

So the first picture is the obligatory one of the bike.

The second is one with my biker friends, with whom I got to spend some much needed time.

The third picture was taken at my friend & colleagues' house in Lahore, Pakistan. I was reminded of my "good ol' days", posing with a knuckleduster & a revolver. The revolver was taken from a Taliban by a friend of his in MI (Military Intelligence), after a firefight in Afghanistan.
I posed in front of books on Medicine because I'd rather beat them up for what they did to me. (sob, sob).

The fourth picture is one take with some traffic cops in Lahore. They're laughing at my apology of being a total idiot on the roads, when I was much younger studying Medicine in Lahore. I said I was sorry for my shenanigans & that I'd hoped that they would find it in their hearts to forgive me.

The last one is the one view that was very therapeutic for me, while on vacation !

Take Care, Gentlemen.
I'm glad to be back among your good company.

Hello Doc, Thanks for the call... even though we had a bad connection.

Was funny trying to talk... all I could hear was broken static !
I did manage to make out a few jumbled words. LOL.

Glad to hear all is well, and thanks for the long text message after the attempted phone calls.

PS.
I am on Vancouver Island... not in V city.

Hey Doc, you can start you true vacation by going back to work.

I think we can forgive you self perceived poor maintenance skills...its not like you work on one of the most complex machines on earth, humans.

Welcome back.

Welcome back Doc!!! Glad you made it back safely from your trip back home...I know there were some concerns.

You know you had a good vacation when you need a separate vacation to recover from the planned vacation.

It was great talking to you and look forward to your next visit.

Take care!

Hey Doc!!!!
Welcome back!! Your stories and influences are always missed here when you're gone. Glad you were able to get some time off to enjoy life and family... AND MOTORCYCLES!!!
Just wanted to mention, you have great taste! Those gloves are nice!!! and pricey!
I tend to stick with the Alpinestars GP Pro, more in my budget
Love the Spies edition helmet too!

So you didn't say whether they let you off or not... Judging by the look from the photo, you did just fine!

Riding is what keeps you on your toes...

Get Lucky.

Hey, Guys.
For some reason, I can't quote your messages.

James, thank you for your kind comment. I missed being on the Forum.

William, I had major concerns, but all was well where I "inserted". I had a safehouse & the ground support was outstanding. I was covered well.

John, you're very right that I think that my job is a vacation. Life here is stress free. Once I go home, no one calls me from work. And I studied so much when I was younger, out of fear of missing a diagnosis, that it's paid some dividends for me. But I did miss out on Life. Hence my inability to do anything but be a doctor.

Matt, I apologize for getting mixed up about where you're located. I was looking at the map in the wrong hemisphere. You're up & to the left, right ?!?

Shan, Man, you should've left out the "oxy" part in the word 'oxymoron'. You nailed it !

Miguel, it's always a pleasure to hear from you. I'll try & make it to Japan one day. I hope.

Adam, thank you for your kind words, as is usual with your ever positive attitude with everything around you. I just thought that expensive stuff would've been better, but I've learnt some "priceless"(!) lessons in life doing that. Those cops in Lahore were very understanding about my late apology. They even invited me for breakfast, but since I had to get to the airport, I took a raincheck.

Paul, thank you kindly for your support & advice on things two wheeled or one barrelled. I really respect your opinions & advice.

Have A Wonderful Day, Gentlemen.
Take Care.
