AFAM! more about sprockets

I am trying to locate some AFAM sprockets online and regional dealers. It seems like the parts departments here in Canada don't know what I am talking about or cannot get the parts I want.

So, I am looking for a 530 AFAM kit to include:

Alum/lightweight 16T front sprock;
Alum/lightweight 40T rear sprock; and
530 D.I.D. ERV-3 chain.

Am I right of it by asking for there parts? Where can I find this stuff?

On another note, I was thinking about the 520 conversion but I heard of the need for speedo healers, etc. I like to know my approx speed and I heard that 520 conversions can add up to an error of 17%?

520 conversion does not alter your speedometer, the gearing selection you choose does that, but even with the OEM gearing it is still 7-8% optimistic at freeway speeds. That error is non-linear in that as you increase speed the error grows so by the time you are at an indicated 130mph the speedo error may be as high as 13-14%. At the same time if you are traveling at an indicated 35mph the speedo is almost perfectly accurate. it is designed that way by the engineers.

Ok, gtg on the speedo stuff,

Now, as for the AFAM stuff, I am looking at a good quality 520 conversion. I am aware of the D.I.D EVR-3, so that dose't need to be mentioned. I need sprocks man!

Thanks

Penn, I got my whole 520 kit from LDH.
You want to stay with a steel front sprocket.
Your call on Alum or Steel for the rear sprocket. I chose the AFAM Alum 42 rear sprocket.
Just call Kyle and ask for Mike.

Penn try these guys: http://bluestreakracing.ca/

Not to take away from the site sponsors here but DK is on the west coast of US and Penn is out east Canada. With brokerage fees and taxes he will wind up paying more.

Penn Tony is a top notch fellow as I have dealt with him on many occasions.

All done all you have to do is checkout or change a few things to your liking and your good to go.

Yeah, picked up the 520 from Bluestreak. It's nice and great customer service although they sent me a 14T front sprocket initially, it took two days for the 15T to arrive at my door.
