Cheap and easy Flapper mod

Hey guys, I did the flapper mod and wasn't able to spend the cash to purchase one of those sharper looking covers that bolts onto the snorkel so I went to Lowes and for $1.50 picked this cover up and put it on. Let me know what you think.

Sorry if the picture isn't very good. But you can get them in Chrome or black.

They are crazy light and sit almost flush on the housing.

It's a Hole Plug. Size is 1 3/8. I found it on the nuts and bolts aisle. The part # is 139432. All I did was press all the tabs done except for two the were directly across from each other and I kind of bent those out just a little. Than I worked the two tabs into the slots that the previous tabs would be inserted into and turned it. I figured if it stays it looks great and if it happens to fly off I'm out a $1.50. But it feels pretty snug in there.

Here's a picture of the plug.

Haha, I like the duc tape but I do believe that may set you back more than $1.50 if you have to buy a roll. But well done.

I don't know, that duct tape is not the run of the mill silver...

Nice mod advice. You know that once you display this idea you are responsible for the durability test report

On my bike the previous owner cut the vaccum hose and I can see the flapper is open, is the best way to modify the flapper to just completely remove the whole actuator and cap it off?
