Turn Signal Issues after undertail instaill

After wiring up my new undertail, I have running lights and brake lights but absolutely nothing from turn signals front or rear, not even a light on the gauge cluster. I checked the fuse behind the left side fairing which was fine, my horn still works along with everything on my cluster, etc. Double and triple checked the wiring according to the directions, and all connections. I'm wondering if I somehow fried the the relay, or if anyone else made the same stupid mistake I did. Any input is appreciated, thanks alot.

i would test the relay....make sure the wiring to the relay is good too. Listen for it switching back and forth. you should feel it click as well.

Try this

Brake/Taillight:
Green/Yellow = Brake Light
Green = Ground
Black/Brown = Tail Light

License Plate Light:
Black/Brown = License Plate Light (same electrical point as above)
Green = Ground

Left Rear Turn Signal:
Orange = Signal
Green = Ground

Right Rear Turn Signal:
Light-Blue = Signal
Green = Ground

Front Left Turn Signal/Running Light:
Orange = Signal
Orange/White = Running Light
Green = Ground

Front Right Turn Signal/Running Light:
Light-Blue = Signal
Light-Blue/White = Running Light
Green = Ground


Sounds like a ground is off somewhere....

Make sure you have the wires connected to the correct corresponding ones. A few years back i had a ebay undertail that came with no instructions.....thought i had it all hooked up but ended up having the ground swapped with a different wire off the harness.

Alright one dumb question after another, but here goes. I started from scratch took the time and wired everything right, which solved the signal problem. Now I'm trying to figure out why they blink so fast, and if its normal. All 4 signals work, front and rear along with running and brake lights. They blink as if there's a missing bulb or incomplete circuit but everything seems fine.

The reason the signals blink so fast is the LEDs don't use as much current as the incandescent bulbs.
The flasher relay is a thermal type that depends on a larger amount of current to heat the relay element.
Because there is less current flowing threw the relay element, it doesn't heat as much and returns to the "on" state quicker.

The two methods of dealing with this are:
a) install load resisters into the circuit to allow additional current to the flasher relay.
b) replace the OEm thermal relay with an electronic type that works independently of current load.

Just installed my proton turn signals and got replacement integrated tailights for my undertail. My question is since proton are internally balanced for correct blink speed regardless of load will my tail turn signals blink fast and if so will a new flasher fix that problem and not effect front turn signals.

My tail bulbs did blink fast with the protons hooked up. I liked it tho, cause it gets peoples attention. that's the purpose of turn sig's anyway. I use the strobe (yellow wire) effect for the protons. I think the imbalance may have finally killed my flasher relay. No signals, and relay buzzes.

So I'll get a relay tomorrow or Monday, but in the mean time I soldered in some resistors from Radio Shack. They cost $2.40 each. You need 2.

Part number is 271-0120.
They're a 20 watt, 8 ohm, non inductive, wire wound-sand cast resistor.
I wish my camara was a little clearer, but here's my wiring. The pictures hold up pretty good to zoom if you want a closer look. This is for the Strobe Blink. People DO see it.
Factory Green (both sides) to Proton Black to bottom end of resistor. Ground.

Factory Orange (left side) to Proton yellow to top end of resistor. That gives you left turn strobe. Substitute Proton orange for normal speed. Use Proton yellow and orange together for fade-in, fade-out.
Factory Blue (right side) to Proton yellow to top end of resistor. That gives you right turn strobe. Substitute Proton orange for normal speed. Use Proton yellow and orange together for fade-in, fade-out.

Factory Orange w/White Stripe (running light left) to Proton red.
Factory Blue w/White \Stripe (running light right) to Proton red.
Hopefully it all works when I plug in a new relay.
