Beater Aluminum Tanks

Just received mine in the mail from Japan (Samurider.com) for my SP-1. Won't fit my Turn-one air box but maybe I'll have Duckhunter make me an airbox for it. Beautiful workmanship. I'll post some pics when I hit post 10 or something like that.

The Turn-One open-top aibox doesn't fit ETI carbon-kevlar fuel tanks either.
It only can be used with OEM fuel tanks as they have a higher raised area on the inside part of the weld seam.

That's why I next tried the SquidSkins (Moriwaki copy) closed-top airbox as an alternative.
But it requires removal of the thermostat for installation. Not good for street use.
So I resorted to using the OEM airbox, which should be compatible with everything.

Now if I could obtain a Moriwaki copy airbox that doesn't require removal of the thermostat, that might be a viable alternative.

Check out my facebook page for the lidded airbox updates. Very close now !
Also, Waldo a member here will soon have his ETI compatible DHC open top airbox... custom made to fit off my own ETI endurance fuel cell.

Sorry, but no.
I sold it a couple of years ago when I found I couldn't use it.

Duckhunter, are you using an ETI fuel tank now. Are you running a close or open airbox on it. If you are looking for a mold for a carbon tank that is oem fit, I have a OPP tank that has leaked on me for the last two track seasons in a row. I have used POR-15 sealant and some epoxy on the outside but I/m done with it. The chemicals in pump fuel have done too much damage over the 5 years I have used it on my track bike. The mold of the tank's underside is the same as oem tank, so it fits my Turn-one airbox. It may be good as a mold for a new tank project.

I have designed an open top airbox which is made longer at the back to fit with ETI.
Works great with a similar type of silcone seal at the front.

Interested in the tank. I can repair it after molding.
