Seized bar end inserts

Pulled the weights off both sides, was going to install some crg lane splitters I had laying around collecting dust. Problem is the inserts won't come out. Weird. I tried threading on the bolts sans bar end weights then locking vise grips to them and using a dead blow hammer to tap them out... Won't budge. Anybody got any ideas? I'm stumped.

Not that I can see, unless the bike fell over ( on both sides ) before I got it, but the bike looks mint. I mean they don't even budge!

I'm going to have a real mechanic see what he can do.

Do the weights spin when you bottom out the bolt? A light lube might loosen them...

I ask these questions because mine have come out when I changed my grips and ends out...

Attached is the bar assy and is pretty straight forward. Good Luck!

This stuff is the hottest penetrating fluid I know of. Let it soak for about 4 hours or overnight. Then try your slide-hammer again.

Or try heating the outside of the clip-on without letting the insert get hot. Then more slide-hammer action.

this thread has taken a turn for the bizarre...

Looking at the assembly dwg, I had no idea the male parts inserted so far up into the female assembly. Clearly I didn't use enough lube to get full penetration.

Always glad to help with some illustrations

Some times visuals are helpful.
