woodcraft rearsets

anyone have experience with woodcraft rearsets or any other product from them?

yesterday i fucked up and didnt put the kickstand down all the way before i got off and it fell over broke off my foot peg on the shifter side. the most affordable rearsets i could find were from woodcraft for $210... i have no where to put my foot while im riding! bent the shift lever but i was able to straighten it out. they needed to be replaced anyways because the prev owner did snap off the gear shifter and did an aluminum weld on it.

thank goodness there is absolutely no other damage! not to the fairing or even the mirror and i dont have sliders! but that is a question i have. when installing frame sliders you obviously have to cut a hole in the fairing but do you drill a hole into the bikes frame then use tap n dye to thread the hole or what?

anyways really interested in what you guys think of woodcraft. thanks, and always make sure the stand is down fully! lesson learned the hard way!

I have an 03 left rearset thats yours, just pay me for shipping and you can have it. looks good nothing wrong, I bought an extra set a while back but only needed the right. I have the linkage too if you need it.

edit* I didnt answer your post at all. I havent had rearsets from them but bang for buck they are hard to beat. super simple design, light, and cheap price! I would buy a set as I have never heard anything bad about them.

I mounted a set a couple weeks ago. I'm happy with them. No adjustability, but that would be just one more thing to try and figure out. No provisions for brake switch mounting or a brake return spring with the basic kit thats around $200, so you need to be a little industrious to make them work for a street bike. I converted to GP shift with a VFR shifter so I didn't need to worry about swapping over the stock shifter linkage. Worth the price I paid for them, no bells and whistles, but they do what they are supposed to do.

2001 RC51 Penske, Race Tech, PCIII USB, Jardine 2-1, Woodcraft, Gilles, Galfer lines, Race upper. Track Only.

2006 CBR1000 Jardine S/O, Pazzo levers. Street ride with the occasional track day for fun.

How does the distance between the shifter and the peg with the woodcraft rearsets compare to stock with the VFR shifter?

It doesn't compare favorably for me. I found myself looking for the shifter to downshift. I may just have to move the position, but if that fails I may reinstall the stock linkage and shifter on the Woodcrafts. I'll let you know. I will try to rotate the angle up to compensate for the rise the rearsets provide, but not sure if the distance is really the issue.

It will work, but you have to get the right rod end for the linkage.

well i finally got mine yesterday and put them on today. i went for a 30 mile ride with them and i like the way they feel. the foot peg puts my foot at a spot where shifting is a bit smoother. i have GP shift pattern and resting my foot on the peg sets my toes up on the shifter perfectly. i was surprised they are technically race rearsets so there is no spot for the return spring or the brake light spring but like jon686 said you can make it work if you bend the springs just so. or i found you can buy a $20 adapter but its not necessary.







you can see i basically had to "find a spot" for the return spring and stretched it out a bit to make it hook onto the rearset itself...

i was bummed they dont come with a shifter peg or brake peg so you have to use the OEM ones because mine was damaged and aluminum welded by prev owner but oh well...

overall for the price they are good
