Gold wheel and accents on 06' Black RC?

So with my newly acquired RC in the black color scheme I am thinking of going gold with the wheels and rear sets, the scotts damper, forks, front calipers, and adjusters on the Pazzo levers (levers are black) are already gold, so I'm thinking this will look quite nice on the black beauty. Thoughts from everyone, and has anyone else gone this same route?

I've seen some gold love on the red RC's, but not much on the blacks... kind of reminds of the generation on Kawi ZX10's black with the gold wheels from factory, just have always liked that color scheme.

Any pics for comparison are appreciated,

Gold is for pussies and looks like complete shit on an RC51. No one in their right mind would do such a thing....

I am for the wheels but leave the rear sets black. Black or silver seem to hold up to the suns effect on the anodizing better. Unless your a short time owner, then gold it is.

Ha ha. I see that not everyone shares my sentiment. The rear sets are silver but I'll be powder coating them whatever color I do the wheels as the wheels have some marks on them and need to be re-done. All blacked out is just fine too, but gold wheels on a dark bike (or darker red bike) I think look good.

And no, I don't plan on being a short time owner, and yes have had problems with the anodizing of certain colors changing over time, so I won't be anodizing them.

Here is a fine example of a bike with gold accents....

Black and gold looks good, but you have to be careful with the gold.

A lot of people try to use 'accent' pieces. Stuff like rearsets and levers, and oil filler caps and res covers etc. To me that doesn't work at all. It's just a bunch of little splotches of colour scattered all over.

If I were doing black and gold I'd do gold wheels, gold ohlins, and a Scott's damper. Rearsets should blend into the frame. Levers should blend in with the handlebars. Ugly parts should stay hidden. Not be accentuated.

But that's just me
