Cheapmods: meet ugly Betty

Little back story of how I bought this bike... buddy of mine has one and asked me if I can do some work on his buddy's RC, so I said yes. Went and picked it up and started the resurrection process. He than asked me if I can make him brackets for his sato high mount, I said ok, let me do some research. Well, I see several type of brackets but I'm confident that I can make one my own so I said ok I'll do it.

His set up was black dragon (?) mid pipe with LBP pipes but the prototype that I made was base on sato's. Well, I hit a brick on that one cuz as it turned out I had clearance problem due to exhaust size differences. Well long story short, Looking and working on his bike ended up with me buying one. This is my "salute" bike..something to admire which to me more than a bucket list.

however, she's an old lady, no point of trying to compete with those high school girls on track and field subjects, no point of chasing HPs or making it as light as a feather. However though I'll do my best to care for her.

The day I picked her up

Looking at the exhaust you can tell that bike looped with no major damage except for the fairings cuz tank isnt badly damage and forks are straight although front wheel are slightly bent.

Loop the loop. Too bad, but hey, now you got a bike with only minor repairs needed.
I think you got the right idea about not chasing horsepower, it is what it is. Still rails like a train with proper suspension.
Speaking of which, you may want to give the forks a service.

Minor repairs is all. Ebay fairings, headlights, cheapmods undertail brake lights and signals combo and that's it. Well, I actually just picked up a Sato knockoff rearsets for 2014 cbr1000rr that I'll modify to make it fit. As of suspension, I have 2012 forks with low milage on the bike skim not to worry about servicing the forks asap.

Hand made a bracket for a sato replica and decided to include 3 setting adjustability -street-canyon-track- just by taking off one screw.

Made a shift lever from a $25 1000rr sato knockoffs rearset hat I found on Craigslist....did I say it was brand new

This would go into trash for most but it think I can modify it

remember that piece is holding the entire front of the bike up, i don't think little rivets into plastic will suffice. are you going to epoxy it all together maybe?

Definitely not with one but its just a mock up. Ill be extending it all the way through the back (where the V line is) and rivet it there (enough to where the strength is there) and maybe make my own cf air tube. Idk well see.

New oem or duck’s (DHC)? well, either way it’d be $100 to spend it on something else. Still need headlights and fairings and some other stuff. Wish I have the dough to burn .
