Ohlins and Kyle link

I've been running 190/55 rear tires on the RC for over ten years now , what does everyone prefer with an Ohlins and a Kyle link , 190/55 or 190/50 ? I'm expecting a shock and link in a couple of weeks and was wondering about the rake and trail reduction with a longer shock along with the link.

For where I do a lot of my riding, street and mountain roads, I use a RS10 200/55
I also have my stock forks rebuilt from Kyle and my top clamp set at 8mm below the top of the fork tube. (sp1)
That gives the bike good quick turning without trying to tuck.

Thanks , I talked to Mike yesterday and he suggested a 200/60 , even. I had been wondering about the geometry with the back end raised further. How's your bike sit on the side stand , mine's already got a lean to it when the tires are new and taller.

It's VERY sketchy. I have to be very mindful where I park, and I usually give it a tug to see how close it is to tipping over. Eventually, I'll get another stand that I can weld in about 3/4 inch of stock to lengthen it. Once in a great while one will come up for sale, but I haven't been quick enough to snag one yet.

Imo 190/55 is a perfect fit & profile on these bikes, a 180/60 is a fun profile worthy of a go if you've never tried it, & a 200 could be tight depending on chain link & gearing or a rear hugger etc. I tried a 200 once years ago & although I really liked the look I decided I was more comfortable on the 190 so went back to that

Jondog9 & LDH have run the 200 for years if they say it's good to go you can believe it

i really do like the 180/60 on the sp2, but i'm also on a 5.5" rear wheel, so i can't comment on what it's like on a 6"

Remember the sp1 and sp2 have different rake/trail numbers from factory, so what a guy with an sp1 recommends may be pretty wild on an sp2, likewise what a guy on an sp2 recommends may be a bit tame on an sp1.

I thought that might be the case. That's why I always mention my setup is on a SP1.
