WARNING on a supposed 03 out of San Antonio

A friend sent this to me via FB

I shared it on three RC51 groups on FB and this is what we found which does not match the "ALL STOCK" and "NO MODS"

It is a 03 frame with 00 swingarm, 00-02 plastic, different Turn signals, modified or aftermarket undertail, aftermarket grips, no bar ends, aftermarket Clutch line, scuffed clutch cover, Aftermarket wind screen, missing Honda emblems on the tank, missing one Frankenstein bolt, has a tank pad, The top red stripe on the ride side of the tank looks like they missed a spot, wrong colored front brake lever and it is broken

It was post by a company named Powerhouse Cycle. They have since removed the post. I just want everyone to be fair warned.

Wheels are SP1
The plastics are 03, not 00-02
Brakes are not RC51...

Wrecked rebuild?

It's a 'nope' bike!!!
Couldn't imagine the internal issues.

The tail is 00-02, not 03.
If I was local I'd go look at it just to pick it apart and tell them they are full of sh!t

I finally received a response to my PM. They said "I'm guessing someone changed it at one point."

Since I've got nothing better to do at the moment, I'd like to add the following

SP2 undertail (ECU pocket showing) definitely aftermarket (no licence plate mudguard plus it's silver)
Lower cowl "lips" missing.......Chinese fairings perhaps?

I can't tell for sure about the frame but forks are SP2 (compression preloader showing), calipers should probably be SP2 (need to measure their pistons' diameter) but caliper brackets are SP2 for sure.
Front brake rotors are SP1 though
engine is SP2 (brown RH crankcase cover), SP2 header pipes and slip ons (pipe angle where the LH slip on attaches to it)

It might be the oil cooler down there in the front V cowl...

These are poor analysis pictures and from "blind" angles for one to see more details.

They even removed the ad from their website

Someone's going to get duped and buy an abortion of a bike without realising it.

Sad, really - a shop selling bikes to enthusiasts should know better than to sell such, unless of course they point out all the ahem, "modifications"...

Maybe put up a warning on Speedzilla too.

I drove by there today, but didn't know about this post.

I know the owner. He's a good dude, as evidenced by removing the add as soon as he was informed. We can't all be experts on everything. He probably trusted a Good customer and got burned. He probably won't do that again.

Overall, the system worked.

@Danoh1
That's good to know.
There are still good businesses out there.

Personally I never implied that the guy who owns the dealership, is bad.

His website is very neat, clean and with the right amount of photos.

He just didn't have the eye for it....or perhaps he doesn't own this RC, just advertise it on behalf of a customer.....

I just like puzzles
