If I had the cash, I would pick that up! After following your fb thread, I'm betting it's an easy fix, albeit a process of elimination. I'm still not convinced that shop gave you the right diagnosis.
Try testing and inspecting connectors/wiring of the ignition pulse generator. One of it's wires runs thru the harness near the left radiator and can get pinched and fray out to ground. Happened to me once, but I got a code on my FI light...
